Weekly Status Update #3

Week of February 20

Team Members: Sonia Mody, Talia Smith, Andres Antonio, Evan Zlotnick

Successes: 
  • Completed literature review

    • Gamification Research

    • Existing Platforms Research

    • Zebra Research

  • Started primary research - sent out a survey, interviewed a few people with retail experience in-person (not in stores yet though) 

    • Sent survey on various social media platforms

  • Completed discovery research results deliverable

  • Completed project approach presentation

    • Also added on to it for our meeting with Zebra to explain the primary and secondary research we have done, as well as our next steps

Failures: 
  • Having to extend our research longer than anticipated, especially for primary research

Difficulties:
  • Recruiting survey participants

    • We’re able to access individuals within our own demographic (18-22 y/o college students in the Boston area) however, it’s more difficult to come into contact with people beyond that circle

  • Planning how to conduct in person interviews

Goals for Next Week: 
  • Finish primary research

    • Go into stores to research people

    • CVS, Walmart, Target, Wegmans

  • Define metrics for motivation and happiness 

    • This will allow us to get quantitative evidence for the success of our solution in the future

  • Define personas and user journey maps 

    • Using the research we conducted over the past few weeks, we will narrow the scope of our project by creating a user persona that we will design towards for the rest of the semester 

    • We will also create a user journey map to illustrate the flow of our user and highlight key needs and features for our product
